If you’re applying with GGS, my understanding is that now (2012) they ask people to go directly to the Corpus address listed above where you will be given the test, finger printing etc.. The office is extremely busy so I’d recommend calling ahead for an appointment.

I’d encourage you to ask a lot of questions before signing on with any gate guard service.

What do they provide?

What do they require you to purchase?

How do you arrange for time off from a gate?

Where will you be located (the company’s general coverage area)?

Discuss salary and how the paycheck will be handled.

Find out what their expectations are: is someone required to be awake 24 hours a day; do they allow weapons, alcohol, pets or any other areas of particular concern to you.
